Yacht & Villa International lists 54.5m ‘Faribana V’ for sale

The 54.5m Amels-built motoryacht Faribana V has been listed for sale with Paul Cave and Glen Villis of Yacht & Villa International. She is on the market with an asking price of €17 million and will be based in Athens for the foreseeable future.

“She has been on and off the market for several years, but the owners are now very serious about getting her sold”, starts Cave. “She is priced very competitively and shines out as a particularly good deal from the top pedigree full displacement 50 – 60m sales listings.”

Faribana V was constructed with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure at Amels’ facility in Makkum in 1998. She was the first yacht to utilise the collaborative design work of the Dutch yard and Winch Design – a trend that has rather belatedly caught on with Winch Design contributing to three of Amels’ Limited Edition 212 deliveries since 2011, and the two larger 2016 launches: 74m Plvs Vltra and 83m Here Comes The Sun.

“These yachts are built so well that they just don’t seem to age”, Cave continues. “When they’ve been kept in condition like this, you would think they are 10 years younger than they actually are.”

Faribana V has accommodation for 14 guests over seven staterooms, which is above the six-stateroom average for the 50 – 60m motoryacht fleet, with Amels also choosing the latter for their latest designs. Other notable features of the build include an elevator accessing all decks, a swimming pool with a contra-jet system and a custom Diva Royal limousine tender. She had a hull repaint in 2012, and in 2015/16 her engines were serviced and her generators were rebuilt.

Cave says that the yacht has only been operated privately to-date, but has been maintained to MCA commercial standards and could subsequently become a commercially operated yacht with ease.
